Jumpstart some ideas for caring for your collections and for spring grant deadlines! Join your LIBRAS colleagues for an informative webinar on Funding Opportunities for Collections Preservation, presented by the Illinois Collections Preservation Network . This webinar will provide basic tips on applying for grants and an overview of funding opportunities to support collections preservation, including Illinois Humanities Council, IMLS, and NEH grants. It is intended not just for archivists but for anyone interested in collections care funding for archival collections and will include a Q&A session. The webinar presenters are Patricia L. Miller, Executive Director - Illinois Heritage Association and Dr. Bonnie Styles, Director - Illinois State Museum Following the webinar, we’ll have a lunchtime discussion of preservation project ideas, tips & tricks for simple & effective preservation steps, and solutions to your trickiest preservation challenges, as well as the latest findings regarding green/sustainable preservation techniques. Bring your favorite preservation (or dilemma) and your appetite - a pizza lunch will be provided. Date: Tuesday, January 29, 2013 Time: 9:45 am-12 pm (webinar begins at 10 a.m.) Location: Benedictine University Kindlon Hall Library (3rd floor conference room) 5700 College Rd Lisle, IL RSVP to Julie Wroblewski, or 630-829-6064 by Monday, 1/28. The pizza lunch will include vegetarian options; if you have other dietary requirements, please include them in your response. Parking: A parking ramp next to Kindlon Hall (where the library is located) and the surface lot in front of the hall are free and open to visitors; because classes are in session, please allow a few extra minutes for locating a space and making your way to the library. Directions: From the main entrance on College Rd., follow signs to visitor parking and the parking ramp. Enter the classroom building, Kindlon Hall, nearest the ramp and proceed to the library entrance at the north end of the 2nd floor. Inside the library, take the elevator or stairs to the 3rd floor. The conference room is along the south wall. Feel free to ask at the reference desk for additional directions once you arrive.
