Confession: I love libraries and I love iPads. Maybe you share both those loves - and maybe you don't - but if you want to learn more about how libraries can use iPads and hear how other LIBRAS schools are already using them, please join us on the on September 20th for a special LIBRAS event.
The Technical Service special interest group invites all LIBRAS member schools to join us for a conversation about iPads in the library. The event will begin at 11:30 on September 20, 2012 at North Park University and will run into the afternoon. North Park is hosting the webinar "iPad Uses in the Library" from 12:00 to 1:30pm (here is the link: http://www.academicimpressions.com/webcast/ipad-uses-library). Following the webinar, members from LIBRAS schools will share how iPads are being used for student research, how the library can support the teaching faculty’s use of iPads, how apps can be integrated into subject guides, and how iPads can transform old library workflows.
If this sounds interesting, please RSVP to email@example.com by Friday the 14th. Once we have a sense of interest and numbers, I will email out an agenda with details as well as answers to important questions like "will there be lunch?" and "will there be a social event following?". I hope to see a lot LIBRAS people there and am looking forward to it!
Also, please take a few moments to fill out this survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/T73H5BJ) to better gauge the interests of LIBRAS library staff in iPad uses and for upcoming Technical Services SIG events.
