2020 LIBRAS Melvin R. George Award Recipient

Posted on May 20, 2020 by admin

Join us as we congratulate Patricia Hall Hurley as the 2020 LIBRAS Melvin R. George award recipient. This award is given annually to a librarian, or other individual currently or previously affiliated with LIBRAS who has made a significant contribution within LIBRAS to library service with special emphasis on library cooperation.

Patricia served as a librarian at North Park University for a little over six year. During that time, she demonstrated a passion for enthusiastic networking and creativity that benefited LIBRAS. She avidly contributed to strengthening connections to key stakeholders on her campus, but also to the broader library community, especially through LIBRAS.

Patricia’s former director mentioned, “At a small university there is always a lot to do with limited staff and budget. Patty not only made time for LIBRAS but pioneered creative and successful programs that help build the community of practicing librarians that is at the core of LIBRAS.”

Congratulations!
