During the week of May 17, 2021, the LIBRAS directors voted to approve the membership of Moody Bible Institute Henry C. Crowell Library into the consortium. With the added institution, LIBRAS membership grows to twenty libraries across the Chicago area.
“LIBRAS is thrilled to welcome Moody Bible Institute Henry C. Crowell Library to its growing community of libraries,” said Estevan Montaño, 2021 President of LIBRAS. “Through our shared mission of library networking, continuing education, and cooperation, the addition of the Crowell Library into the consortium will continue to enhance the sharing of knowledge and opportunities for our library staff.”
“We are very happy to join the LIBRAS community and are looking forward to connecting with colleagues at upcoming meetings!” said Julie Adamski, Metadata and Technology Systems Librarian at the Crowell Library.
The Henry C. Crowell Library is located on the first and lower levels of The George Sweeting Center for World Evangelization, which was dedicated on April 28, 1992, and funded by the Henry Parsons Crowell and Susan Coleman Crowell Trust.
The Crowell Library holds approximately 264,000 items in approximately twelve collections, including Curriculum Lab and Juvenile Books, Circulation, DVDs, Music Library, Journals, Pamphlets and Clippings, Reference and Reserves.
The Crowell Library provides access to over 80 electronic resource tools, including online indexes, catalogs, eBooks, eJournals, reference databases and scholarly articles.
