Lake Forest College Donnelley and Lee Library invites you to discover the Nell Shipman’s 1920 silent film Something New. One century after its original production, this little-known silent movie gem has been reimagined with a musical score by Professor of Music Don Meyer and Music Associate Chris White.
Panelists, including, Chris White, Don Meyer, Gizella Meneses Professor of Spanish and Latin American and Latinx Studies, and Professor Emerita Kay Armatage of the University of Toronto will provide insight on the musical composition, film pioneer Nell Shipman, and the film’s presentation of race to provide context for the screening.
